Don’t expect Kai Havertz to give you much defensively, but that’s not what he is here for. Decent speed, 4* skills, excellent shooting attributes and high quality technical ability is the order of the day.
Naturally, he will not be a cheap player to sign from Chelsea, but with the ability to develop into one of the strongest attacking midfielders in the game, starting from an already very high base, means it would be money well spent.

Christopher Nkunku is a FIFA fan favourite, and you can see why. He is quick, he can dribble, he’s got 4* skills and he is a genuine goalscorer. It is not too dissimilar to what we have seen from him in real life, where he has put together a dominant season playing essentially as a striker for RB Leipzig.
Although he is a designated CAM, you could sign Nkunku to play up front in your FIFA 22 Career Mode save, especially if you play a quick, transitional style that doesn’t really on your striker having a high strength attribute.

FLORIAN WIRTZ

Before a devastating ACL injury, Florian Wirtz was having a breakout season for the ages. Starting the season as an 18-year-old, Wirtz was priming himself for a key role at this year’s World Cup in Qatar after contributing to 17 goals in just 1,851 Bundesliga minutes.
Regardless, Wirtz is a worthwhile acquisition for your FIFA 22 Career Mode save, with top class dribbling paired with the customary 4* skill attribute. His shooting could use a little bit of work, but with expect it to with plenty of room to develop further.

YOUNG ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS FOR THE FUTURE IN FIFA 22

In real life, Fabio Carvalho is on his way to Liverpool after starring for a Championship-winning Fulham side. At the start of your FIFA 22 Career Mode save, he is entering the last year of his contract and could be a high value pick-up for your club.
Carvalho looks good enough to play a role as a squad player from the start of your save, with decent enough pace and dribbling to hack it at a good level as he continues to grow into a star.

PIERRE DWOMOH

After falling out with the Genk hierarchy in 2020/21, Pierre Dwomoh made the move to Antwerp last summer with the view of breaking into their first team. While he has not played huge minutes, he has established himself as a first-teamer as a teenager: it’s a pretty good start.
In FIFA 22, he looks to have a great profile to develop. He is 6’1”, has 4* skills and good speed and dribbling. The basics are there. With 23 overall points to develop, there is much more to come too, especially if he can add some more shooting to his arsenal.

LUKA ROMERO

Luka Romero is the youngest player to ever feature in La Liga when he debuted for Real Mallorca as a 15-year-old in 2020. After joining Lazio in 2021, he became Lazio’s youngest debutant as well, featuring in a Serie A match against Spezia.
In FIFA, he is a decently quick dribbler, although he is a miniature player at just 5’5”. However, he is just 16 at the start of your save, and has the potential to grow 20 overall points. Sign him, loan him out, and in a few years’ time you will have a high quality CAM/LW/RW to work with.

WHAT ARE FIFA WONDERKIDS?
Wonderkids are what every Career Mode manager looks for in FIFA. They’re young prospects – usually aged 16 to 19 – that have elite-level potential in the game. Freddy Adu is a prominent example for older managers, while Youssoufa Moukoko is a current case. They’re the superstar youngsters that are must-buys on every save.
But it’s also subjective. A wonderkid at Accrington Stanley is completely different to a wonderkid at Manchester City. Essentially, the surroundings dictate the status.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD ATTACKING MIDFIELDER IN FIFA 22?
The answer to this question depends on your team, its style, and the role you want the attacking midfielder to fulfill. You may want a goal scorer, a dribbler, a creative threat, or one that combines all three.
The basis remains fairly similar across all three roles, though – you want an attacking midfielder that is mobile and intelligent, capable of executing the basic responsibilites of the AM.
HOW DO YOU FIND THE BEST ATTACKING MIDFIELDER IN FIFA 22?
You can do so by utilising the player search tool, which enables you to specify the certain variables you’re looking for in your player – from age to specific attributes.
Make the most of your scouts, too. Send them to look for the best young attacking midfielders by defining their criteria – specifying under-23, four-start potential, etc. Alternatively, just scour the Scouted Football website.
HOW DO YOU DEVELOP YOUNG ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS IN FIFA 22?
As always, pathways are paramount. You have to make sure that your youngsters have access to meaningful minutes at the appropriate levels. If you have a first-team ready talent, phase him into the team gradually, during pre-season ideally.
If your prospect needs a bit more polishing, the loan system is a valuable tool. But pathways to senior level minutes are key. Assess your youngsters on a case-by-case basis, decide what they need, and enact your decision.
The highest rated attacking midfielders in FIFA 22 are Bruno Fernandes, Thomas Müller, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Alejandro Gómez, Marco Reus, Nabil Fékir, Luis Alberto and Phil Foden.
Phil Foden, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Martin Ødegaard, Dani Olmo, Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai are the best under-23 central midfielders in FIFA 22.
