FIRST-TEAM LEFT WINGERS IN FIFA 22
PHIL FODEN
- 28/05/2000
- Manchester City (ENG)
- England
Phil Foden is the best player to have ever come out of the Manchester City academy, and he’s just getting started. Already a star at club and international level at 21, Foden is one of the best players on the planet playing in traffic, weaving his way in and out of defences and finding passing lanes where others can’t.
In FIFA 22 Career Mode, he is an all-round beast, blessed with speed, dribbling, 4* skills, and solid passing and shooting. Plus, he has the ability to add eight overall points to his rating. If you can max him out, he will easily be one of the best players in the game.

JADON SANCHO
- 25/03/2000
- Manchester United (ENG)
- England
His skillset isn’t predicated on speed, but Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho makes up for it with technical quality one could only dream of. 5* skills help too, making him one of the slipperiest wingers in the game.
Obviously, having just signed for United, he won’t come cheap, but if you can land him you will be set on the left flank for a decade of your FIFA 22 Career Mode save.

- 89 POTENTIAL
VINÍCIUS JÚNIOR
- 29/02/2000
- FC Barcelona (ESP)
- Spain
Real Madrid raised eyebrows when they spent an astonishing €45 million to sign Vinicius Junior after just a handful of senior minutes for Flamengo as a 17-year-old. But he has developed into a player befitting of the price tag, forming one of European football’s most exciting double-acts with Karim Benzema.
With 95 pace and 90 dribbling, it’s hard to look past the Brazilian as a winger that looks to hit teams on the break and come in wide to shoot on his preferred right foot. 82 finishing and 5* weak foot are just added bonuses.

YOUNG LEFT WINGERS FOR THE FUTURE IN FIFA 22
FRANCISCO CONCEICAO
- 14/12/2002
- FC Porto (POR)
- Portugal
Francisco Conceicao is quietly becoming a first team regular for FC Porto, without the hype that normally accompanies many Portuguese wonderkids. Mainly coming off the bench, playing for his father who is the manager of Porto, he has already racked up close to 50 senior appearances at just 19.
Francisco is miniature at 5’7”, but is quick and a good dribbler with 4* skill moves. Whatever he lacks physically, makes up for with balance and close control. A little bit of extra shooting as you develop him should turn him into a dangerous wide player cutting inside off the right.
- 70 OVERALL
- 86 POTENTIAL
ANTHONY ELANGA
- 27/04/2002
- Manchester United (ENG)
- Sweden
Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga is a FIFA 22 speed demon. At 70 overall he already has 84 pace, with room to improve even further. Unfortunately, outside of some OK dribbling attributes, Elanga is lacking outside of that, and you will probably want to send him out on loan before you consider using him in your team.
But of course, if you are looking for a proper speedster, it is hard to look past the Swede, who should top out at more than 90 pace once he maxes out his 85 potential.

- 85 POTENTIAL
LUCA OYEN
- 14/03/2003
- KRC Genk (BEL)
- Belgium
Luca Oyen is the newest budding star of KRC Genk’s academy. Already a fully-fledged senior player for the Belgian club, Oyen is an excellent technician that thrives in tight spaces despite his small stature.
34 strength is obviously a concern, but if he can continue to develop his speed and dribbling, he could be an interesting prospect to develop, especially given his price and his expiring contract. His 3* skill moves are also not ideal.

WHAT ARE FIFA WONDERKIDS?
Wonderkids are what every Career Mode manager looks for in FIFA. They’re young prospects – usually aged 16 to 19 – that have elite-level potential in the game. Freddy Adu is a prominent example for older managers, while Youssoufa Moukoko is a current case. They’re the superstar youngsters that are must-buys on every save.
But it’s also subjective. A wonderkid at Accrington Stanley is completely different to a wonderkid at Manchester City. Essentially, the surroundings dictate the status.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD LEFT WINGER IN FIFA 22?
The answer to this question depends on your team, its style, and the role you want the left winger to fulfill. You may want a goal scorer, a dribbler, a creative threat, or one that combines all three.
The basis remains fairly similar across all three roles, though – you want a left winger that is mobile and intelligent, capable of executing the basic responsibilites of the LW.
HOW DO YOU FIND THE BEST LEFT WINGERS IN FIFA 22?
You can do so by utilising the player search tool, which enables you to specify the certain variables you’re looking for in your player – from age to specific attributes.
Make the most of your scouts, too. Send them to look for the best young left wingers by defining their criteria – specifying under-23, four-start potential, etc. Alternatively, just scour the Scouted Football website.
HOW DO YOU DEVELOP YOUNG LEFT WINGERS IN FIFA 22?
As always, pathways are paramount. You have to make sure that your youngsters have access to meaningful minutes at the appropriate levels. If you have a first-team ready talent, phase him into the team gradually, during pre-season ideally.
If your prospect needs a bit more polishing, the loan system is a valuable tool. But pathways to senior level minutes are key. Assess your youngsters on a case-by-case basis, decide what they need, and enact your decision.
The highest rated attacking midfielders in FIFA 22 are Neymar Jr, Sadio Mané, Raheem Sterling, Lorenzo Insigne, Mikel Oyarzabal, Eden Hazard, Dušan Tadić, Jack Grealish and Diogo Jota.
Vinícius Júnior, Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Moussa Diaby, Ansu Fati, Luis Sinisterra, Pedro Neto, Noa Lang and Rafael Leão are some of the best under-23 left wingers in FIFA 22.
