Jorrel Hato

Ajax may be in perhaps the stickiest period of their modern history, but they haven’t stopped pumping out ballers. Jorrel Hato is their most touted defensive talent since Jurrien Timber, whom Hato named as his idol. Like Timber, Hato is a multifaceted talent capable of playing in midfield, although left-back is where he really shines.

At 75 starting overall and 88 potential, Hato is one of FC25’s best defensive talents and well worth the meagre €12.5m market value. For a kid who’s already captained Ajax and played for the Netherlands national side, that is an absolute bargain. Move now before EA change their minds.

Harry Amass

Manchester United’s Harry Amass is a fascinating buy. At just 60 starting overall, he’s not a player you’ll want to pick up and play straight off – but his potential overall of 85 reflects how much United rate him and means he’s well worth the investment.

At a market value of just €750k, Amass is a must-buy for development managers in his first EAFC appearance. He already has 76 sprint speed at his current overall, so expect a zippy boy to develop.

Lewis Hall

Since his move from Chelsea to Newcastle United in 2023, Lewis Hall hasn’t nailed down the starting left-back spot as quickly as some expected, although he is only just 19. As such, his market value is just €7m, for which you get a very well-rounded player.

Hall has everything you want in a full-back. He’s great on the ball, agile, quick off the mark and a solid passer. A starting overall of 73 feels like he’s a little underrated, but his potential of 85 seems just right. Grab him and watch him shine.

Valentín Barco

A long-time SCOUTED favourite, two scouting heavyweights battled for Valentin Barco’s signature last year – Brighton eventually beat Manchester City to get him. If that doesn’t tell you what kind of player Barco is, I don’t know what will.

An inverting left-back capable of playing in midfield, Barco’s strengths are his passing and vision stats from full-back, and his exceptional balance and agility. He’s on loan to Sevilla right now, and expect his 73 starting overall to go up quickly with game time. At 84 potential, Barco is a perfect buy for managers who like to playmake from wide areas – although a €6.5m market value, no release clause and starting wage of €37k mean you’ll need at least a moderate budget to pry him from Brighton.

Almugera Kabar

Hailing from youth football darlings Borussia Dortmund, Almugera Kabar is a perfect value buy. Breaking into the limelight for Germany’s youth international teams, Kabar is now on the fringes of Dortmund’s senior eleven – and his athletic profile makes it easy to see why.

With impressive acceleration, sprint speed, agility and balance, Kabar is capable of making an impact from the off, if you’re willing to deal with his somewhat janky 63 starting overall. But with an 83 overall potential and the capability to fill in further up the field – as well as at right-back – Kabar’s release clause of just €3.5m make him a smart choice for keen developers.

Octavio Ontivero

A final shout for those looking for a player similarly priced to Kabar, consider Octavio Ontivero from Lanús in Argentina. An 18-year-old yet to make a real impact on senior football, Ontivero is very much one for the future, but don’t sniff at his 83 potential.

Low wages and a €3m release clause make him a true budget buy if you’re willing to develop him. His contract ends in 2026, so pick him up before a renewal and you’re laughing.
